After working for nine years in a company that produces and sells frozen fruit pulp, business administrator Humberto Azenha, 31, decided to resign to start his own business.
He pooled his savings, R$200,000, created Pamonha Gourmet, in August 2015, and began exporting the frozen delicacy to six countries: England, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Ireland and France.
"I realized that most companies sell pulp and derivatives of many fruits, but there wasn't as much option on the market for products with green corn."
He says that many Brazilians who live outside the country miss national food and delicacies. That's why it has a captive audience abroad.
The tamale is sold in salty, sweet and light versions and, according to the businessman, is ready in three minutes. In addition to exporting, the company is also present in the states of São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Espírito Santo, Sergipe, Alagoas, Pernambuco, Manaus and Rondônia.
